Jinnie De
Jinnie De’s first Guru (dance teacher) was her mother (the late Manjusha De – founder of Nupur Dance Academy Sydney). While Manjusha continued with traditional and creative styles, Jinnie is now steering ahead with contemporary Bollywood styles with great success.
Jinnie has over 15 years of formal training in the classical Indian dance style Odissi as well as Bollywood and Hip Hop, which she incorporates both in her choreography resulting in an extremely rich and unique form of dance. Prior to arriving in Australia, Jinnie also trained in the Indian Classical form Kathak in India at the tender age of 4.
She graduated from the University of Technology Sydney, where she completed her Bachelor of Business degree. She juggled a successful financial career along with her passion for dance for many years. She now is the full time owner and creative director of Nupur Dance Academy taking it from strength to strength.
Some of her career highlights have been performing for The Royals (King Charles and Queen Camilla), international music Maestro AR Rahman, DJ Bally Sagoo, Jay Sean, Apache Indian, Hard Kaur and more. Scores of students have come up to a surreal level under her guidance and training.
